The Linen
Our kaftans are woven from pure linen on a traditional backstrap loom, then finished with hand embroidery by artisans near Chiang Mai. Each print is worked entirely by hand. Each design is a single original, never reproduced.
When you wear an Aura kaftan, you are wearing one of a kind. It carries you effortlessly from day to night, from the beach to dinner to the dance floor, with the kind of ease that is hard to find and impossible to fake.
Look closely and you will notice gentle irregularities in the weave and the stitch. These are not flaws. They are the fingerprint of handwork, the mark of a maker rather than a machine, and part of what makes your kaftan entirely your own.
The Leather
Our fringe leather vests are cut and crafted by hand from vintage leather, giving each one a history before it ever reaches you. Because every hide is different, no two vests are ever the same.
You will see it in the surface: the subtle unevenness, the soft creasing, the worn-in character of leather that looks as though it has been loved and passed down for years. We think of these marks as the tattoo of the maker, a record of the hands and the time that went into every piece.
